The power of Pentecost that John G. Lake experienced with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues unknown to him, as a result of the ministry of those at the Apostolic Faith Mission at Azusa Street in Los Angeles, brought his Holiness and Healing message that he had been trained in at Zion, Illinois under Dr. John Alexander Dowie – to a whole apostolic new level.
This may be why he named the church planting movement that he co-founded in Africa the “Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa”. It still exists today. However, by way of a quick Google look-up, there seems to be no group online or in the US by the name “Apostolic Faith Mission”. There is now.
We enjoy unity in like (common) faith by devoting ourselves to the Apostle’s teaching. Apostolic unity brings agreement as touching:
Ministry – Jesus asked people what they wanted before agreeing with them in prayer/ministry. True agreement is based in hopes held out in the Full Gospel: That all His spiritual gifts are available to all who believe toward receiving the fullness of His finished work; salvation, deliverance, and healing in our spirits, souls, and bodies- right now – unto an inward transformation demonstrated by an outward demonstration of His Spirit’s miraculous and character gifts.
Culture – Ministry is not a job, but a lifestyle to be entered into together. Our culture creates and allows space for the presence, person, and power of God to move in, through, and among us.
Missions – Frontier church planting is taking the Apostolic Faith to cultures (geographical, ethnic) who lack opportunity to enter into our culture.
Network – Whether you want to connect with or even plant an Apostolic Faith Mission in your home or community, you can draw upon the resources and fellowship of others who are doing the same.
Those who represent the true Apostolic can not only teach His Word accurately with signs and wonders following, but also train, empower, impart, and release prophetic leaders in their gifting.
Two Streams
For over 40 years now in the Pentecostal movement, this has ceased to be the case. So much so that a separate Prophetic movement has arisen.
One River
In this next season, I feel the Lord wants to reunite these two streams back into their original river.
Eph 2 (KJV) 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
Unity
We need each-other. Why not worship together in unity?
The Apostolic mind needs the Prophetic heart.
God’s presence in worship, intimacy, and group and personal prophetic words may dry up over time.
The Prophetic heart needs the Apostolic mind.
A healthy Prophetic train stays on the track of the rails of Apostolic teaching.
We value Freedom
In worship
In Personal Prophecy
We provide direct instruction in the prophetic so that you can join in if you want, even if you are afraid that it will not not come naturally for you.
